MARISSA MARTINEZ - WOMEN’s DISCIPLESHIP & groups minister
I grew up in San Antonio, where God used my family, the ministry of Young Life, and his Word to expose my brokenness and my need for Jesus, and to show me the life to the full that can only be found in him. After graduating from Texas A&M in 2013, I moved to Plano to do student ministry for a short season, before returning to Bryan/College Station to help plant Declaration Church in 2014. While at Declaration, I had the unique opportunity to wear many hats, getting to serve in several different capacities including church administration and operations, children’s ministry, women’s ministry and college ministry.
Throughout the years, the Lord has sown in me a deep love for the Word of God and a deep desire to foster Biblical literacy within the church. Along with Biblical literacy, I’m passionate about women’s discipleship, teaching the Bible, and empowering women to be a vital and vibrant part of the body of Christ. I am currently working on my Masters in Theological Studies at Southern Seminary and hope to graduate in 2020.
I am so excited to be returning to Dallas to join what God is doing in and through Eastside. My hope for Eastside is that we would be known as a people who deeply love and reflect Jesus to each other, our neighbors, and the nations.
Marissa hosts and produces The Glory Days with Marissa Martinez, an interview style podcast that encourages women to find the glory of the Lord in every season of their lives.
